The trail, also known as the King's Pathway, was originally built in 1905 for workers to travel between two hydroelectric power plants but was closed-off in 2000 after two walkers fell to their deaths.

was built in 1901 as a connection between the power plants of Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls.

The rickety path is now falling into disrepair due to its age and some parts have fully collapsed.
The Spanish government have tried to close this path due to safety concerns but there are many crazy climbers who still take to the crumbling path to get the amazing views.
