Indian Ghost Town of Bhangarh Rajasthan – Alwar
Welcome to Bhangarh, India’s most haunted town.
Many locals and visitors claim that they have witnessed paranormal activities – like sounds of music and dancing and wierd color spots in photographs of chambers.
A mere 270 kilometres from New Delhi, this town lies in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.
Bhangarh must have been an extremely prosperous city. Today nothing remains but the temples.
This Devil place is located between Jaipur and Alwar. It is an archaeologist’s delight. Bhangarh is the small village with rich historical ruins and is a popular because of its vampirism.
The Government of India has strictly banned all tourists or any trespassers to enter Bhangarh from sunset till sunrise.
Legend says, Princess of Bhangarh, Ratnawati was bestowed with great charm and beauty by God. She started getting marital offers from a very early age.
There lived a evil magician (tantric) Singhia in the village who fell in love with the princess and was well aware that he does have a chance of marrying her.
With a determined to marry princess, he prepared special scented oil with his black magic. The oil will hypnotize the princess and she would marry him.
Princess maid foiled his plan.
She warned the princess to avoid using the enchanted oil he gave to her. Princess threw the oil away which landed on a rock. The magic potion in oil started working and rock started rolling towards the tantric crushing him to death.
Dying magician cursed the town of Bhangrah, everyone living in the palace and their future generations that nobody will be left alive here and the soul of the dead will never attain salvation.
The curse proved right, following year there was a battle with Bhangarh and Ajabgarh resulting in the death of everyone in the village including princess .
Many a curious visitor has complained of being overwhelmed by a queasy, uneasy feeling as soon as they enter the town, but maybe it is the mind playing games.
As the town is built on a hill, we stand at one point gazing at the various arches and colonnades built on various levels on the hills, and they all speak a silent, wailing tale of a past soaked in splendor.
Not as if nobody did not try to enter at night. At dusk, the guards manning the town lock the gates and then lock up themselves, in a small room in the fort, and do not come out till morning
